The first step is to select the source template to analyze. Select a server. Select a server from the Server drop-down list.
After you select a server, Caliton Template Analyzer automatically gathers a list of all databases on that server. Note that there may be a small delay while Caliton Template Analyzer gathers the list of databases. If your server does not appear in the list then type in the server name and click the Update Template list from Server button.
The drop-down list for the Template field will be populated with a list of all the databases on the selected server. By default, the list will contain databases that do not have a value in their Master Template property (see Frequently Asked Questions for more information). If you want to only see actual templates in the list then you can click on the Show templates only checkbox.
Enabling the Show templates only option will cause the Template field drop-down list to be populated with only databases (.ntf or .nsf) that are marked as Master Templates. After you have enabled this checkbox you will need to refresh the template list by one of the following methods:
A progress dialog box will be displayed as each database is checked for inclusion in the Template list.
Select a template. Select the template you want to analyze from the drop-down list.
If your template does not appear in the list then you can type the file name directly into the combo box and click on the Update Element list from Template button. (Remember to type in the full path name relative to the Notes data directory.
In this tutorial we select the standard Lotus Notes R6 Document Library template (doclbw6.ntf). After you have selected a template, the Database title and Template name will be displayed below the Template field.
Select an Element Type. The Element Type list box contains a list of all the available design elements in the Lotus Notes template. Select the type of Element that you wish to analyze.
Once you have selected an Element Type, the Element list box will be populated with a list of all elements of the selected type. In this tutorial we are selecting Form elements and after we have selected Forms, the Element list box will be populated with a list of forms from the template. Select a Design Element. Select a Design Element from the Element list box.
In this tutorial we select a form called "(Subscription)". Once the Element has been selected, the Scope field displays a description of the analysis about to be performed.
